Mr. and Mrs. Hanshaw

On Sunday, I went to a wedding for my mom's best friend.  It was interesting because Mrs. Sheryl, the bride, lost her husband about 5 years ago and it's going to be weird calling her Mrs. Hanshaw instead of Mrs. Wechlser.  My family has been friends with Mrs. Hanshaws family for about 10 years.  The wedding was quite beautiful despite the bad memories of losing Mr. Wechsler that were in my head.  The couple got married at Table Rock, here in Greenville, and it was the most beautiful day I'd seen in a long time!  The ceremony took place on a big, stone balcony looking over a lake with dogwood trees framing the picture.  It was a celtic wedding, so the groom wore a kilt and traditional scottish garb while the bride wore a celtic/ medieval gown that was green and lace-up in the back.  I got to help set up the room for the reception and, in doing that, it helped me think about what I want my reception to be like.  The entire wedding was personal, meaningful, and very homey.  The best part was that Mrs. Sheryl gave me her bouquet because, she said, she knew I'd be the next one to get married! :)
